    "Gun to suit a Scope" !

    Well here's an "Ar*e-Way round" way of doing things ?

    I'm looking for a period gun to "put under" my Optima 3-9x40.

    Initial thoughts are;
    HW 35. export.
    FWB 124/7.

    Any help on this Guys ?
    Thnx.

    An Original 45 would work too.

    Mk1 80 or a BSF B55.
    In saying yes to this air rifle you are confirming that you are not a messer and are allowed to go out in public without your carer

    Liking the sound of most of these but the HW 35 seems to be "humming a sweet tune" so far !
    Surprised no ones mentioned an Airsporter yet ?

    How about one of those AA side lever rifles? Camargue, Kamisin, Paris Hilton, etc

    It's got to be a HW35E. I'm pretty sure Optima used to sell these in the late 70's/early 80's, so it would be a perfect match to an Optima scope.
    The South of England has 2 good things, the M1 and the A1. Both will take you to Yorkshire.

    I've just pulled out AGW for June 1981 and the 4-page Optima advert lists the HW35E at the princely sum of £84.50 and the 3-9x40 at £36.50. There's also a "double-barelled" HW35E on offer at £99.50. Those were the days!

    any 35 or fwb as I recall. was their address Gilnow Mill Bolton? Read a post the other day putting them in Surry I think? My mate bought a std 35 from them which came with the 22" barrel of the export. I have just got a nice export off a chap on here and it would look very nice on top of it, but I'm not selling just yet! I's a lovely gun that has had a bit of tuning so no twang, light recoil and just short of 11 ft lbs with the leather washer in situ. What more could you want from a springer?

    For Maximus: back in 1981, the address for Optima was Foxley Lane, Purley, Surrey, CR2. I had a gun bag, Z40W 3-9x40 and 2-pce mounts from them when I bought my first FWB Sport from Essex Gun in 1980.
