    New .260 Lapua Brass

    Hi All

Has anyone else tried the new Lapua .260 Remington brass. As expected it's good quality, weight variation is minimal but it is thick. I found that as new it needed the necks expanding before I could comfortably seat 139 grain scenars without too much resistance; OD of the new cases when expanded was 0.293" but when fired was 0.297" in my chamber. Will be giving them another go next week with the necks sized down to 0.295"

    Hey,

I've got some. Found it very tight seating on the first go, am resizing them with a .291 bushing to see how that works.
OD with a scenar loaded is .294" so much, much thicker necks than the nosler custom stuff which is .288" loaded.

On the brightside it's cheaper than the Nosler Custom...

I had to neck expand my new cases not size them down, unexpanded they were .292", expanded .293", once fired in my .260 Surgeon they came out at .297" and I've resized the necks with a .295" bushing which is giving an actual .294" OD.

I meant resizing with a .291" on second firing; what is your loaded neck size then?

Reloaded neck dia is .2935". First lot of once fired were not neck down enough so I had to run them through a smaller bushing, using a .293" bushing has reduced the necks to .2925". They held the bullets today when test fired, checked the loaded rounds in the magazine to check they were not jumping under recoil, but as a precaution I have just ordered .292" and .291" bushings from Reloading Solutions.

Thanks, a .292" is on it's way to me as well.
