    Alecto grip customising

My Alecto has returned from the gunshop after a trigger repair.

I forgot what a great pistol it is.

One of the few things I don't like is the military - almost sci-fi look of it.

Can the grips be painted with a durable spray applied product - say a brown colour - to tone down the desert eagle look.

I've used Plastikote previously but that was on a Beech stock.

Or should I just leave this gun in a factory specification without any fettling!

    Cheers

If you want to do it, why not? It's your pistol after all. I think the grip is removable which should help. Ask Paddy (Pad.E) about paints and primers etc.

You need a plastic adhesive primer so that any paint will grip to it.

I just did my 1377 pump grip in black, i was plasti-grip primer, hammerite brush on smooth and then hammerite smooth satin spray on, I also baked each layer in my greenhouse and hung outside on a line to cool.

still hasn't come off and signs of wear.

    Thanks for the replies chaps.

Just need to get the courage to starting painting.

I'd love to see an Alecto with wood grips, anyone done it ...
