Just a rolling update, have now fitted a fibre optic foresight made by kensight and it has made a world of difference. Combined with the Springfield Armoury adjustable rear sight, it makes the gun very pointable and I can actually aim it properly now

Other thing to highlight, a few other club members (not me) have experienced the recoil spring guide rod breaking, this is a known issue that is common in the states on the GSG-1911 caused by them changing production from a solid rod to a weaker "x" shaped rod. These are quickly replaced and a titanium one is now being produced by a third party to prevent this from happening.

Just got back home with mine, I think I got the last 1 of the 2nd batch.

According to Chris, they are probably not going to do another batch. So if you dont have one you probably wont get one.

But the GOOD news is that TSC are heavily into prototyping their own 1911. I had a quick look at them & they are sexy !! As a plus, all new TSC prototype parts will probably be interchangeable with GSG parts, e.g. frame, slide, mag etc.

I guess they will spread the news when they are ready.

Last weekend my ProTSC had 2 light strikes in about 200 rounds (should have had more ammo ). I got about the same rate in my Ruger 10/22 - so I'm wondering if its ammo & not gun. Can you shoot the same ammo batch in something else to rule that out ?

    Hi Dave

It was about 3 times every tens shots (ie every mag full) and as said tried two makes of ammo with same result

I'd suggest stripping it & make sure there are no signs of excess rubbing. The slide will probably bed down after a bit, but it should have a small amount of lube on it.

Well stripped it gave a good oiling then today not confident in taking it down one of local clubs so drove down to The Tunnel where Richard made me most welcome and tried it. He fired off 30 rounds no problem then left me to get through another 200, fed and fired faultless apart from a couple.

Richard said just like having a new car with a rattle when you take it back to dealers?

We think maybe sticking firing pin due to be new and oiling freed it up.

It was great fun, tried with cheap standard velocity and mini mag, now to work on accuracy
