    paint stripper

    do you think i could use paint stripper on this?

    as the barrel has some pretty hard parts to get too,

    By paint stripper, do you mean a heat gun, a scraper or chemical stripper?

    Yes make sure to use heavy duty paint stripper. Also be careful to not make any contact with the paint stripper and maybe wear a mask as the fumes can be bad.

    Be aware that this will eat through the factory paint aswell and leave you with naked metal.
