    I have

On a HW35 I went from leather to plastic, then back to leather.

Then I went from leather to O ring, then back to leather.

Then I threw the leather piston washer in the bin.

    Leather instead of plastic?

not done it on a Hw or "tuned" a gun but I have fitted leather washers to Webley Hawk mk 1s, an original 5 and a RO72. On the Webleys I did it because the old ptfe ones always seem to diesel with the oil they have soaked up over the years and I don like the idea of riveting. On the Original, the boss the washer sits on was damaged so I ground it off and drilled and tapped the end of the piston and made a washer up. On the Ro72, the rubber cup washer had spread that much and was acting like a parachute, that the previous owner had fitted a piston weighht (well a lump of brass). I finally made a washer for this and it would work without the piston weight/
