Why on earth would anyone want to do that????? It is like giving up a .223 for a cave man's club to go foxing with Is it a nostalgia trip????
Has anyone tried the reverse experiment of putting a leather washer on a piston normally fitted with a plastic one? Like on an HW80 or a AA TX200?

Hi,
Good point by Jumbuck, but out of curiosity I too would be interested in any actual figures from doing this, including the conversion from leather to Synthetic?
Regards
not done it on a Hw or "tuned" a gun but I have fitted leather washers to Webley Hawk mk 1s, an original 5 and a RO72. On the Webleys I did it because the old ptfe ones always seem to diesel with the oil they have soaked up over the years and I don like the idea of riveting. On the Original, the boss the washer sits on was damaged so I ground it off and drilled and tapped the end of the piston and made a washer up. On the Ro72, the rubber cup washer had spread that much and was acting like a parachute, that the previous owner had fitted a piston weighht (well a lump of brass). I finally made a washer for this and it would work without the piston weight/
