Sussex Interclub HFT - Round 8 RESULTS

Hi everybody

Oh what fun and joy (interspersed with much weeping and gnashing of teeth too ) we had at Mile Oak today.

Lots of thanks due to the efforts of Byfold and his buddies in setting an ‘interesting’ and varied course, in woods and in wind on the open downland; with added zing from the need to brave the crossing from one area to the other via a field in which there was an alleged very angry highland monster (certainly shaggy and with a huge set of horns).

Scores presented here in the usual format and with the usual request to please let me know (PM or email) if you spot any known or suspected errors/omissions.

What an amazing result for the home (Oaks) crew, pipping our oft winners by a significant 19 point margin and turning over the 15 point cumulative lead of the Buxom Boys to a 4 point deficit. Poor Richard will be right peed orf that he had to depart before the excitement to be had by reading out the above to the gathered SIHFT hoards.

As a result, we seem to have some real competition for the Team Trophy; all to fight for in the final two rounds, the next of which is in THREE WEEKS time (that's on Sunday August the 14th) at Swallows FTC.

And finally ..... for those of you begining to wonder if you're in the running for an end-of-year individual trophy I WILL, here and now, promise to update the full results table on our web site some time soon this week; first allowing a day or three for any comments on today's scores. Just remember that - bit like team results - it aint over til the slightly over-size lady gets up on the stage and sings

I'm sure your 4 shot lead won't be enough, so take the glory of today to its limits Oakies.

Seems my ability to set spreadsheet macros with an error has the ability to repeat itself. Net result is that the Team places for Buxted included Ben Davies (48 points) where I should have had Ryan Stennar (49) and lifts the overall Buxted Team score to 250 and reduces the gap with Oaks to just 4 points.
