I was in the farm yesterday and there are hundreds of acreas of soya bean fields...
I saw a couple of rabbits running out off one warren and disappeared in the near field. I waited for 3 hours hoping I could snip them on their way back. non of them came back.
I then searched the area around the warren. No sign of rabbits. If they were nearby I would have seen them running around.
So this lead to the following question:
Will rabbit always return to the same warren (home) or he just roams around and stay in which ever warren he can find?
Hi,
you'll find loads of the tunnels lead to the same warren underground, there are probably entrances out in the crop you don't know about yet,
They are no more likely to get lost in a field than you would walking to the shops.
Unlikely.
They will not be adversed to switching from one burrow to another if it is nearby perhaps. I also guess a rabbit will not be adverse to bolting down another warrens hole if pursued by a predator...............but I guess we would do the same when Jurassic Park becoms a reality
A lot of animals also leave urine trails so they can find there path in the dark and i believe rabbits are amongst them.
Others include rats and even ants believe it or not.
Damn this accursed slydexier, deslixia, slesdex-e-her. Well damn it anyway
They will bolt into other warrens if startled and i do sometimes see holes inside the crop, i doubt very much they could get lost as in my experience they never really stray that far there warrens even when they are ejected from there own warrens they dig very close bye
They use a torch and a mapAlready been said but if you look in a field during the day you will see lots of bunnie runs in the grass and undergrowth which are well used, it is these runs that are used at night

God you lot dont know much about wabbits do you
On a sarious note I had one bolt way off the patch last week and it went near another warren but carried on eating, I guess it was just reacting to it's mate being shot.
It hung about and went into some undergrowth...I guess it slunk home, pissed and stinking of fags some hours later!!![]()
What the hell was that then????
I saw a dyslexic at a toga party recently dressed s a goat!
when the snow was down last winter i tracked a single rabbit over 150yds across a large gravel car park to a small patch of grass. it's return path was about 15- 20 ydrs difference back to the same hole in the fence. its route to the grass and back to the hole were pretty much straight lines. the other point to note was that there was 1000s of acres grass out side the fence but it wanted to go to this patch
Rabbits mark teritories and have middens but definitely do not leave "trails of urine", they are also massively averse to the unknown so unlikely to leave known areas unless persued.
Rabbits are also fiercly teritorial, seriously fierce, a rabbit entering the teritory (or warren) not belonging to their social group stands a good chance of being gutted like a kipper if they don't leave promptly when challenged,
