Not knowing your history, I'd say that you owe it to yourself and the prey that you'd be shooting to start off with a non-FAC rifle, get plenty of experience and become a proficient shot before obtaining an FAC.
If on the other hand, you are an established/accomplished shot the go for it (so long as the land is FAC approved)
