    Sussex Interclub Round 9 RESULTS

    Hi all

Knackered, but finally getting over it. Shame I failed – yet again – to improve on my very varied scoring record. Managed to clear the field and first 5 lanes of the wood before my wheels fell orf DOH! But that was more than made up for by hearing of young Eli’s score –earning him a 5th Gold and Swallows first (and probably only) Platinum. Very well done, young man

I’ll repeat the thanks I posted on the Round 9 announcement thread, to all the Swallows crew who helped set up a rather different course for your fun. Was a lot of hard work and deserves medals all round. Thanks too to our caterers - Kerry, Mike and Stuart. K & M got to the field this morning at 05:30 to prep your breakfast

Scores presented now – in the usual format – and with the usual request to please let me know a.s.a.p should you spot any errors or omissions.

Two new Platinum badges in this round, for achieving their 5th GOLD, were awarded to Eli McCullough (already mentioned above) and Bob Pattenden.

    And the team scores ……

    Club Round 9 Total

    Buxted 277 2434
    Iden Fern 274 2347
    Ford 258 2310
    Horsham 270 2287
    Swallows 246 2205

I reckon this means that there remains a great deal to play for – for sure in both the Team Trophy and the Open class competitions – but we’ll know the outcome after the final round to be hosted by Buxted in 3 (or is it 4?!?) weeks time.

I'm very aware of the keenness on the part of many of you to see the detailed spreadsheet following this penultimate round - especially for those in with a chance in the individual trophy contests. However, I'm unlikely to be able to get this published on to the web site until late next weekend or early the following week. Sorry folks ... but if truth be told, all the knowing how close you are or might be comes to nowt unless you do as you should EVERY round - shoot your PB Simples

I enjoyed that immensely, Thanks again to Swallows for what must have been a lot of work!

Also thanks to 'The Oaks' for showing true grit, not forgetting some rather good scores from lots of lads (most clubs) who don't always do so well all the time, was a tough course to shine on

It has been great shooting with you lot throughout this series, all the clubs scores seem to be bunching up now, it will be a tough one next year i reckon.

Roll on Buxted...will Andy make it easy...or hard?.....

Buxted open next week and Oakie open week after, see you there!

That is because Ben just pretends the wind is not there and aims directly at the target and hits it,(I haven't forgotten that fence post in a force 9 gale at the Oaks)

It's the devil I tells ya

I'll admit to being a semi sellout nowadays. I do give it a bit of kentucky windage (That's aiming orf to the uneducated amongst you) but there are still shots where I still give it nowt and the target goes down.

'Tis a brave fool that flies in the face of convention and denies the wind it's true right to screw with your pellet.

I remember shooting at the Oaks with Mike & Andy once. One gave it left, one gave it right and I aimed straight on. All three of us got the target down. Flamin' Oakie wind!

Naah, that's Spence's job to fuel up on wind 'assistance' before the shoot whether it be a curry the night before or something from the burger van covered in chilli sauce.
