Help with my Hw80 (it seems a little different internally? )

    Hi

    I have a Hw80 .22 that needed a re-lube.

    So i stripped it down.

The Spring guide is fixed to the back block, I've not seen this before and it is different to the chambers drawing and stripdown guides that i have found .

Also the piston seal is Black and the spring has a metal top hat ?

    Everything else looks normal?

It does have a VENOM sticker on top of the cylinder. (not sure if the sticker

Could this be some work by Venom or is it just standard or after market ?

Any info on this would be great.

    Thanks in Advance

    Rob.

At one time (maybe still so?) Venom fixed the guide to endblock, so, yes, probably had a basic tune at some point.

I'll get some pics sorted tomorrow. (if i can find out how to post them in this section?)

I haven't had a good shoot with it yet (only got it today),

The couple of shots i fired seemed ok.

The serial is: 1069720 (think its a early one)

Condition isn't the best but should clean up nice.

1987. So an early MkII , the new model being introduced in 1986 I believe.

I have owned an HW80 with exactly the setup you have described. Very nice it was too.
I think John Bowkett used a similar method to attach the spring guide to the end.
'It may be that your sole purpose in life is to serve as a warning to others'.

    Hi,

Post up some pics (including the piston), but it sounds like an in house venom tune.

should be a really nice shooter if in good condition
