I have always felt there is a lot of sense in having cylinders honed, and Paul seems to put a lot of emphasis on this.

Having said that the TX tune seems costly at over £150..

Air Arms TX200 Tune: ARH mainspring with bronze guides, custom fitted delrin piston bearings, ARH piston and breech seals, compression tube is trued on a Sunnen hone and the end plug is modified for a better seal. Trigger work and compression tube buttoning is optional. $245

Be interested to know what the end plug mod is..

I'm contemplating having my comp cylinder tested
On a lathe using a dti on the inside (tx200)
Just to see if it's true
I might even have the outside buttoned
To make the cocking sequence smoothed
I do believe prosport cylinders are buttoned/ringed

    I have one

I had my MarkIII tuned by Paul 5 years ago. It was before he got the cylinder hone, so no honed cylinder. I do have the buttons and they smooth out the cocking, but not a lot over a properly lubed, and broken in, stock gun. I have a plastic guide and it's been through near 100,000 shots plus several springs and seals and still working fine. I can't really say all the work is worth it as the accuracy didn't improve. On a gun that doesn't seal the breech properly it would make a world of difference.

I have 6 TX's in all and 1 has over 100,000, but the others also have many 1,000's. I go through around 20,000 pellets a year for the last 12 years. My yard may become a toxic waste area eventually.

Might be worth getting a target that collects them and then melt them down and get some money back?
