Question .577 Muskertoon round price ?

A mate has been asked to help at a cooperate day by letting them have a go with a black powder rifle and was asked how much he would need to cover expenses, he worked out cost of powder (Swiss) ball, and top hat percussion cap to be around £00.82 a shot, he thought this sounded a bit high, any thoughts please

    .577 Muskertoon round price

    hi there

we have a club 577 and charge 60p a shot. This covers costs plus a bit to allow for price increases over time.
    No time like the present....

We don't have a Club 577 - but have two members guns that members can use (HO approved club)

We also are on 60p a pop or 5 for £3 whichever way you look at it !!

    Cheers

The P.H. .577 BP I've used isn't the sort of gun you'd like to fire lots of shots with in one go.
I'd say a pound a pop isn't too much - especially when someone will have to clean it out periodically.

Iv got the ph 2 band navy version and 60p a pop seems fair when you look at the price of powder, caps and the heavy old bullet. Plus all the tutoring and loading, cleaning etc.
Let us know how you get on. Tim

They agreed 82p per round this includes tuition and time cleaning like you said Tim, it seems when they do a cooparate day it includes clays, airguns, archery and blackpowder shooting and the blackpowder is the most popular, I suppose its because most people have had a go with airguns and clays but not shooting a blackpowder rifle
