    Very sad news.

A genuinely inspirational man, Rod's passing is a great loss to the BBS.

There's nothing I can add. RIP Rod. Your selfless attitude humbled me often. You've come to the end of the fight, but what a fight you gave.

    Good morning chaps,
In order to 'finalise' this thread.

I had an appiontment with my Oncologist (a wonderful woman) last Friday afternoon. Because of my underlaying wish not to continue any further treatment, the meeting turned into a bit of a Heart-to-Heart. We discussed all sorts of topics which included what will happen to me in my final months then weeks. Hospices. Will it be the cancer that kills me or something that it induces ie organ failure or infection etcetera. And most importantly, time left.
She answered all these questions with tears in her eyes.

To say the least, I've had a bit of a reality check and I thought overall I had prepared myself quite well. I've already put my affairs in order regarding my house and ensuring my Wife is financially comfortable for as long as necessary. Anyway, its all sorted and done. So, I'm going to sit back, kick my heels and enjoy the sunny weather, the racket and devestation my Grand Daughters produce and be at peace with myself.

    There you have it!

    Rod

I hope I can be as brave as him if I get a calling card before I go. I doubt it.
    Much respect and RIP.
