Rest in peace, Rod, you deserve it, mate.

He called me a while back to enquire after my son's health, when his own was more than enough to concern him. We spoke for some time and he told me everything would be fine for my boy, if not for himself. There was not a shred of self-pity in his voice and he even told me a joke.

He was a truly remarkable man.

The baddies get a ban, only the good ones get to leave the forum by checking out

(and I say that knowing Rod would probably chuckle).
When I look back, the fondest memory I have is not really of the Goons. It is of a girl called Julia with enormous breasts.

Like many i only knew him via this bbs,

I read his threads on his ongoing fight with the dreaded C but his grit and determination always shone through and it seemed that he'd not let it beat him without a fight.

No doubt he fought a brave battle to the end.

    Rest in peace rod.

A little tribute, small and tender,
Just to say we still remember.

That's really saddened me, only new him here, he didn't moan on about his problems just stated them if asked clever guy and often made me laugh, RIP Rod

    Oh. My. Lord.....

I am truly gutted. Struggling to see the keyboard through watery eyes, I am not ashamed to admit.

Rod was an example of fighting spirit, so strong that spirit, I'm sure many of us were envious.

He made a choice for quality over quantity, we knew it was only a matter of time, doesn't make it any easier to hear of his death though.

God Bless you and keep you, Rod. A supporter of our parcels effort. I'll treasure your G10 watch for the rest of my days.

My only regret was not having met you.

My condolences to his family & friends.

He certainly showed the sort of fighting spirit needed. I was often impressed by the way in which he refused to give in despite how hard it got for him at times.
