    Medic!

    Hi,
I took my rifle out today to give it a good clean and what did I find!

    Right...
What can I do? Any cheap solution?

Some fine precision needed there lol.
Just remembered, I might get some of that camo tape, wrap it round the barrel?

    Would that ruin the look?

I would not use anything too abrasive , 0000 wire wool and 3 in 1 oil is about the only thing I have ever used on damaged bluing . If using this method be sure to do it gently , wipe off the excess oil and check how it looks before going over it again .

Definitely recommend camo tape - it's cheap and protects against such damage!

I saw my friend about it, and he noticed that it was only there when the sling swivel was fitted on. He thinks that when Rayleigh Airgun Center put the front swivel on, they scrapped it along the barrel...

    Hence the straight scratch.

Go on to that Auction Site and get one of the little muzzle brake/silencer adaptor things. They are about £15 and are splendidly made - the vendor or maker is named

'ics-products' just do a search on them.

BTW I'm posting your moly tomorra.

Um .. you would stick it on the front end of your barrel and cover up the scratch! Presumably its a break-barrel so it gives you summit to hang onto when you are cocking the piece in the rain.

Its a Pro Sport. Under leaver. Would those muzzle brake/silencer adaptor have enough diameter to fit onto it?

Oh blimey. That is a big fat barrel, although the 'barrel' is actually a shroud rather than the thing that has the rifling cut into it, so the best thing is to get it polished and reblued. This will cost £20 or so.

I'd rub it with steel-wool and 3-In-1 and forget it. Or cover it in cammo tape like Mal says ...
