    HW35 Project Valuation

Well they say a picture is worth a thousand words so here you go

HW35 serial no 682000ish missing its safety, blueing polished off the cylinder. .22 by the way, horrible stock job, the front sides of the stock have been sanded so much they are about 1/4 inch thinner than they should be and the finger grooves have gone!

Any one care to place a value on this much abused piece of HW finery. Incidentally this is making 10.5 to 10.8 ftlbs, incredible really.

Maybe it never had finger grooves?

Where's IJ when you need him!

I would say - as it has both its sights, about 75 to 85 quid.

    Cheers

A tad less £65. Lots of ok ones about for the £80 to £120 mark and they can be E versions. A very nice one can be had for £160.

If the Rekord trigger unit is in good working order (worth £40- ish) and its got both sights I would have said £60-70

Has the finger grooves been polished out or is it a Deluxe stock?

I'd like to think it was a std one with grooves sanded out rather than a Delux with the cheekpiece sanded off.

Its a shame really that its worth more in bits than as a whole gun. Thats my dilemma, do I break it and sell it off via E*** or sell it on here as a complete rifle and possibly see most of it two weeks later on e***. Or do I bite the bullet, spend the cash and return it to its former glory?

I may get stoned for this but......

..definitely break it up and sell it off. You can use the funds to go towards something far more rare and worthy if you like (or a good curry and a bottle of wine or three).

The pistol grip proportions look wrong as well.

Other than the grip cap piece that has been added, it appears to have been thinned significantly. Most unusual.

    Hw35

I agree the stock is firewood, I'll drop it off to those protesters in the City to keep them warm, poor dears.

I've just found a safety (but no spring), and I've got a spare 13mm HW Diopter to fit so I may keep the old girl yet.

Especially since she does 10.5ftlb with a weakish feeling spring, and I've found a .177 barrel!!

    Any one got a stock?????
