I guess i may have gone a little mad with the pellgun oil, i heard to much can damage a gun, not sure though. I have seen tins of gun oil on , but want the right stuff, trans fluid scare's me a little, someone that has used it for 10+ years on their pride and joy and says it's ok would allow me to use some as i have some maybe in the shed.

Pellgunoil is a high quality 30 weight engine oil, some ATF is 30 weight oil.
If your ATF doesn't clearly state it's composition, rather than chancing it, buy a litre of high quality 30 weight engine oil, that should last you a week or two, evan at your current consumption rate

    not magic (pelgun oil)

Pelgun oil is not magic. There is a product developed by the Germans in world war II called balistol. I use it on all my guns, co2,springers and pneumatics. It prevents and removes rust and is slick. Goggle it and read what others say.

I have followed this thread for a while !
Pellgun oil is OK, But, You come to the point where seals have to be changed ! ( Its no magic bullet )

Albeit, An Exhaust valve , Or a Co2 cylinder seal, ( I might add the manufacturers are taking the Micky here )

Here are a couple of Pics -
    http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture496.jpg
    They are a ( No 1 ) 8 Gram Co2 cylinder with a Push/Knock open valve ?
IE , It can be released from the cylinder after a couple of shot,s Whilst retaining the unused gas , How easy is that,
Second is a Soda syphon holder for the 8 gram ( Or others )
NOTE !!!! The sealing of the Co2 cylinder, Be it 8 gram or another, Is not by pressing the face of the cylinder into the piercing pin & GRINDING the seal, To make a seal ?

    A close up -
The seal is made around the NECK of the valve by a simple O ring , Should this leak, Its easily replaced , ( I have never had to change one )
    Pic-http://i101.photobucket.com/albums/m...Picture499.jpg

Finally, ( I bet your glad, Ha ha, )
I use this sealing system & So could the manufacturers, Espescially if using a valved 12 gram cylinder , Why they ?
As regards the pistol in question ? Its like the AT System, There has to be a way around it, By drilling out peened rivets , Screws, loctite Etc

I have never seen one, but if anyone has a US one, buy & repair it ! Its that or open another Chablis ! Ha ha, Ged.

It's a pistol firing valve leak with a 12g cylinder capacity mag, it's not a soda syphon

I've refaced the valve seat and it's a working mag again, as I already make replacement capsule seals and valve cap O ring seals this makes the Witness mag fully serviceable
I'll be looking at the possibility of replacement seals when I get a mag seal which is too far gone for refacing

I didn't need to strip the valve unit to reface the seal and reseat the valve head.
Yes, I'm happy to repair & service Witness mags.

    Guys,
No need to buy expensive `pellgun oil`. Treat all modern ( and old ,for that matter) co2 guns and airsoft guns with pure SILICONE oil.
Silicone oils keeps all co2 seals pliable and in good nick. I have been using it for many years in all co2 powered guns and airsoft guns.
You can buy large 400ml aerosol cans from Halfords for about £3.99. Just squirt into valve or magazine every 3 or 4 gas fills, you will have no more trouble.

I have been repairing/restoring collecting co2 guns for 29 years. Trust me.
    NOTE.
NEVER use WD40 in these guns, as it is basically a fish oil derivative and will rot your seals.
    Pete.

Lubing a Umarex or similar (where the oil ends up on most of the mechanism) with silicone is just asking for trouble as it will promote magazine and mag advance system wear. Unless you're one of those rare shooters who regularly strips their gun and correctly lubes the moving parts with the appropriate oils and greases it's a poor idea.
Silicone oil is worse than nothing in any metal to metal system like the rear valve stem, hammer and trigger mechanism as it has no film strength and rapidly creates an efficient grinding paste in such areas!

THERE IS NO FISH OIL IN WD40, this is an urban myth, it's chiefly a heavy lubricating oil dissolved in a light petroleum derivative (i.e. parafin), it's not good for rubber seals but it's not good for Grey Seals either as no part of it has ever been anywhere near a fish

    ATB,
    Nick
