I have a 4*12*44 airmax on a 77K use high mounts and the rear scope stop hole and there is just room to load. Oh just noticed it's a 95 not a 97

Hi, i've been looking around these forums for a few weeks - lots of helpful info here
i've just turned 17 and have decided it's about time to get my first 'proper' air-rifle
(up till now i've just owned a cheap B2 etc)
the thing is, as my budget is limited i decided to buy the scope first as it was in a special offer (half price), this was about 5 months ago i guess.
it's a Hawke VarmintII 3-12x44,
i was initially planning on buying a TX200 - because (from reading these forums) i discovered it would comfortably fit the AirArms rifle with no problems because of the fact that its an underlever - and the scope didn't obstruct the loading too much.
now i've pretty much decided on a Weihrauch HW95k instead...
if the worst comes to worst i could always sell the scope i have now at a profit and get something smaller like an AGS 3-9x40...
but just in the vauge chance that i could use the scope i currently have.. does anyone know?
thanks.

Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once
yeah.. the 77 is an underlever anyway.
can you use any large scopes on break barrels?
I had a 6.5-20x44 simmons on my '98 (same action) with about an inch to spare, so u should be ok (no sunshades though)
Mart.
Brilliant! did you find you had to mount the scope quite far back though?Originally Posted by Martin

Varmint seems to be 370mm long, my simmons was 366ish so you should be fine aslong as the action is free to break, u dont get any loading hindrance with break barrels too compaired to underlevers.

I have the 3-12*44 varmint 2 on my HW95 with a one piece mount. Supremely accurate, does that answer your question.
