Tanfoglio Witness: Slide won't go fully forward, will not fire

Not sure what happened, but the slide just won't quite go fully forward - I can't put the safety on, and it won't fire.
I've taken the slide off, can't see any loose bb's or anything. Scratching my head! Slide moves freely, but not the last 2mm.

I would think that you have got a BB stuck in it they can be very hard to find I would take the slide off and remove the barrel you can have a good look then I have had this happen on my airsoft 1911 so I bet that you will find this is the problem.

Yep strip down is identical to a real 1911.

I would look at the pivot link myself, is this moving freely? has the recoil spring slipped over the locking lugs and preventing them from engaging the slide?

If its only the last 2mm then I would be definately looking in the area of the lock. The last 2mm are when the slide and barrel are locked together.

    Whoops!

Took the slide off again, and found FIVE bb's!
I'd been looking for bright copper coloured bb's, then realised my mate had probably used lead bb's - perfectly camoflaged amongst the innards of the gun. Two in the barrel, two nestled either side of the blowback unit, and one stuck in the front 'gas-flow' bit of the blowback unit.

I think he carried on firing once the gas was low.

Also, note to self: throw away the rest of the lead Gamo BB's.

I thought that would be the problem glade that you have got it sorted do not throw the lead bbs away you never now you may get a gun at some time with a riffled barrel that you could use them in I threw a load of steel ones once only to later get a gun like yours that uses them.

Oh yes, Gamo lead Balls are too big for Cybergun guns. Great in a Dan Wesson though.
