.22 rimfire holes at 100 yards, you're not asking for much are you!

Buy the biggest objective lens model you can lay your hands on. I use a 22 x 60 for .22 rimfire at 25 yards and use up to 30x on same scope for seeing the spotting disc at up to 600.

The Opticron IS60 is a pretty good guide to the type of 'scope you want. You should be able to buy one with a reasonable zoom eyepiece for £250-300. Anything much cheaper will be be OK at 25yds, adequate at 50mtrs but will struggle to provide a clear image at 100yds. Worth having a read of the birdwatching forums and a look at their for sale sections, you might pick up a bargain.
