    vintage 10m airrifle shooting?

Anyone knows wether they used the same 10m airgun targetcards in the 50's and 60's as they do now?

No they are generally smaller now. Smaller bulls were introduced around 1970/71 as the 300s was showing it's true potential in the hands of marksmen and also pellet technology was improving at a vast rate of knots. The Germans had got it cracked!

Thanks. Do you know of pics of the old cards?
Or do you know those old cards for sale?
Wanna shoot 10m with my Webley mk3, but want to do it at the correct cards.

I think there was a very early 10 mt target in the early 60's with a large ten ring (approx 5 mm), but I'm not old enough to have used or seen one as I'm only 65!
The original targets I can remember as being the standard international 10 mt rifle target for the ISU (international Shooting Union), which became the UIT (Union Internatiale Tir), which then became the ISSF we all know and hate today. Those were almost the same as the current ISSF ones introduced in 1989, the main differences being the 10 spot was 1 mm as against the current ones 0.5 mm, the other rings I thought were the same, but the old target black aiming mark and outer of the 4 ring is 31 mm dia as against the current one which is 30 mm, but that may just be poor printing tolerances of the earlier target.
I have a good reference as by luck when having a clear out recently I found an envelope with a sample of all the old targets included, pre '89 10mt Rifle (NSRA/UIT), pre '89 10 mt Pistol (NSRA/UIT), 6 yd Rifle (NSRA), 6yd Pistol (NARPA), and 6 yd (18 ft) Rifle (ARCA).
The ARCA (Air rifle Clubs Association) 18 ft target would be interesting to Bell target shooters as it is the fore runner to what became the NARPA (National Air Rifle & Pistol Association) using the same targets, which is a paper representation of the Bell target with a 1 mm 10 dot, 10 mm nine (which is the aiming mark) and was the bell target hole, and the other rings about 2.5 mm spaces.
You must a masachist! Shooting 10 mt with a Webley Mk 3, have you got bored of shooting 400's!!! I'll send you a scan of the old 10 mt card, e mail me on robin.carter80@ntlworld.com
    Good Shooting

    Hi Robin
Thnx for that, will mail you!
No, not masochist! I just like to shoot old cards that go with the rifle! I shoot it at bell targets too.
I dó have a Walther LG300, but FUNwise, I prefer other rifles. The walther is very 'clinical'.
