Info on a diana mod 27

hi, Looking for some info please on the above.

the one i have is made in GT Britain it also has 2 holes drilled in the top for a scope and has a large alloy trigger blade the barrel lock up is the conventional type not the ball type, any one know how old it may be and what type of scope/rail i would need if i want to fit a scope.

    Thanks in advance

I believe Millard Brothers fitted a scope rail by the means you describe as a response to BSA making scope sights available on their products, which began with the Mk1 Meteor in 1959. Webley were also forced to respond but their rails were spot welded on. I would say this shows your air rifle to be no earlier than 1960, but I am not aware how far behind BSA Milbro introduced this feature.

No doubt someone who actually knows what he is talking about will be along shortly!

    scope rail

The scope rail is made of steel 2" long x 5/16" wide with 2 countersunk holes to mate with cylinder holes.
