new to site and shooting

hi all
just thought id better say hello my name is stu and I'm from portsmouth
I'm new to plinking/shooting??(think thats right)
I'm looking for a new/s,hand .22 rifle for targets and maybe a bit of pest control i have in mind maybe a air arms tx200 or a hw99s i don't know to much about either but have just been looking on the net...but not 100% so any advice ideas would be greatfull am also thinking of joining a rifle club does anybody have any input on this??
and if anybody has any advice that they think would be useful or not id be glad to hear it i know it sounds like I'm asking a lot but i would really appreciate any thing any one has got to add
