    MPL Round Two Completed.

MPL Round Two is completed and the match cards have been scored.

We did not do so well this time as we did last month, but it was good to see the continued interest in the MPL and the increasing interest in recoiling Classic pistols - especially the old GAMO Centre and its close cousins the Falcon and Target that basically share the same mechanics.

What was especially good this time though was the interest we had in the club on the Thursday night - everyone was keen to take part and some turned up with new Classic pistols that they did not own last month!

The MPL has been a really good thing for our young small club and gives us all a lot of interest and an increasing interest and awareness of the older ( and less expensive) Classic pistols.

I am at work this morning, but I will gather them and post them later on the MPL thread.

Have you got all the Rivvy scores together yet?

Theres one more day, tomorrow when Mel might enter. He shot last time with a Gammo Compact and did quite well. I will try to get up to the indoor tomorrow to 'encourage' him. Now, where did I put my trumpet?
Rivis scores should be posted Sunday night.

Is the trumpet to allow you to sound the lament?

I was quite pleased with my Falcon scores, especially as I had some wide shots.

Still, I'll continue with smug mode, and continue to let everybody know it was a £45 gun, and that included some £6 for the postage!

    Kind regards,

    Phil

We have another nice Falcon in the club now - but it needs a rear sight assembly - does anyone have one by any chance so we can get this one pressed into MPL action next time?

Chambers have just sold out of rear sight asemblies, so that source has dried up.

Maybe an old scrapper Centre or Falcon is kicking about somewhere that still has the sights on it?

RMTC - Winners of MPL Round Two.

Congratulations to all members of the Rossendale Model Target Club for winning Round two of the MPL.

As a very small club we are punching well above our weight, but the top 5 scores from the Rivvington Riflemen are giving them a strong lead in the Elite League that only records the top five shooters scores from each club each month.

Our spies have suggested that some practising may be taking part at the Rivvy Club inbetween matches, but we mostly only try to find a suitable MPL pistol on the night and chuck some lead down the range and hope for the best.

This is not a problem and keeps it fun, but if we want to try and close the gap a little in the Elite League our top five shooters (whoever they are each month) need to add a few points onto their cards.

Personally I am very happy with things the way they are, and it should be expected to find the top shooters in a much bigger club - but we are not too far away and taking everything into account I think we have done very well in this competition and deserve a pat on the back.

Never mind - his sand castles look quite nice without them anyway!
