Not a problem for me as specs since the age of 11.
Seen a few things recently that incline me to answer yes to your Q.
Especially with the increase in the number of BB pistols.
Since starting out in air pistols I've become aware of the closeness to the target area and the potential of ricochets. Yes I use a good backstop but on the odd occasion I've had a flyer thud off the wall next to me. It happens.
How many fellow pistoleers use eye protection ? I've seen some decent looking ones on the bay for around a tenner, are these any good or should I invest in a good £40 pair (Remington etc)?
Or do I carry on as I am and concentrate on the shooting ?

Yep, enjoyed the witness but it was sooooo inaccurate. Pellets all the way for me now. But I'm getting more thoughtful about buying some eye protection.
I would say yes definitely go for eye protection. They are irreplaceable, and so easy to protect, its really not worth the risk.
I've just had a few sets of these from Amazon, fit nicely, and well liked by those who've tried them.

I can count to potato.
if you have had splash backs take precaution b4 it's to late.. you only have one set of eye's look after them.

Had a good bouncer at Redhill some time back,
The pellet hit smack in the middle of my shooting glasses lens and scarred the plastic,

Money well spent!

It dont half smart
You only have the rights you are willing to fight for
I always wear the yellow tinted ones, I don't know if its psychological or real, but I feel like I can see better/sharper with them on.
I also started to wear them after a bisley magnum bounced off the back off a metal knock down target, came back and smacked me bang in the centre between my eyes, to close for home, hurt like held and drew a little bit of blood, so if it were my eye who knows what the result would have been.
