    A Guess at Identification

Following a thread in general can anyone help me Id an old air rifle?

It belonged to a mate, mid 70's, all I can remember about it is it had an optional spring powered tube mag that sat on top of the cyl.
When cocked a loading "breach" came verticly up between barrel & cyl, this could be hand loaded or if the mag was fitted it auto loaded, I think it was .177, & I'm pretty sure it was a break barrel.

Not much to go on but if anyone can help have a guess,

    cheers, steve.

Sounds like a paratrooper/sniper as said above.

I've pinched this photo of Neil's from the web.

Thanks, but that's not it, it didn't have a pistol grip.

If you forget the mag, (which might have been an add on) how about a breakbarrel with a pop-up breach?

The Sniper version is the same action as the Para, but in a more traditional wooden stock. Like this. It could also be fitted with the tubular magazine.

The mag is fitted in the earlier photo I posted, but it's not very clear.

Here's an older thread with photos showing the magazine etc on a Paratrooper.

    Any help?

ASI Sniper, that must be it, especially if there was nothing else like it.
The close up of the mag tube on the older thread is pretty much what I remember, and the rear sight comming down on top of the "breach" to close it.

Many thanks for the help chaps.

Sounds like a Relum Repetier repeating air rifle made by F.E G in Hungary.

the relum's rear sight doesn't close the mag tube though.

Without doubt this is a Relum Repetier whose automatic loading gate functions in exactly this fashion. Eary models had a flip up slight while the later ones use a simple leaf sight (though its mostly blocked by the loading gate assembly).
