Exporting a gun to the US

Can anyone give me some advice on sending an air rifle to the US, someone wants to buy a .22 air rifle of me, how do I stand with customs, couriers etc.

    Sub 12ftlb I assume?
Just take to the PO and they'll give you an export form to fill in, write in the description of contents box "Sub 12ftlb UK legal air-rifle which conforms to the D.T.I's export rules." where DTI = Department for Trade & Industry.
Something along those lines anyway, been a while since I last sent one.

    Davestate,
Cheers for that, have you any idea what the cost is likely to be, just a very rough idea would be good.

You would need extremely small writing to get that on the customs sticker!

Its not a sticker, as I said above its a form, and there's plenty of room.

Agree with Dave and I'd only add that the last one I sent took about 12 days to reach it's destination in the US.

I've received a small package today which took 11 days to get here (AirMail).
