£25 is a steal if it works OK.

Hi all
I just looked at an Optima 4x40wa at a junk shop, It's wildly out of focus so I tried turning the ocular bell to bring the focus in (I only unscrewed it but for what seemed an age!)..
The chap wanted £25 for it, it's a shame it wouldn't focus as it looked a nice scope
I may go back next weekend and have another go at focusing it, if it does indeed focus, would £25 be a good price for it?
Cheers, John

I've one on my FWB Sport, just love it. Also selling one with a period 80's Tasco, see my thread on here/further down. The Optima had a £25 service too. Sorry won't split but pretty much a bargain.
With many old scopes, once broke they really are uneconomic to repair as a general rule.
Thats a cracking price John, bloody good scopes to. I have a 5 Optima's and think they are all excellent quality.

Hmmm
I think i'll go back and have another look then, hopefully it will just need screwing in the right direction to bring it in to focus
The covers were on and the lenses were immaculate!!

I bought a brand new one, still in it's box (NOS) only a few months ago.
The quality is superb, both optically and in build.

I have the 4x32 wide angle model on my Vixen .22 standard, and the Optima Gamekeeper on my Webley/ Beeman C1 carbine. Very good scopes.
