hi guys just wondering what the best way is to get rust off the barrel of my gun, i was thinking wire wool and oil but not too sure? little bit of help please cheers
i have used 0000 wire wool and ATF (auto transmission fluid) on an old hw80k barrel . just dont rub too hard and the bluieing will not rub off . aluminium foil is meant to be good too i hear
Gun oil and fine grade wire wool will do the job nicely and shouldn't need much effort if only light surface rust.
Aluminium foil and gun oil works well!
Oiled Scotchbrite also works well (the green kitchen scouring pads) I always spray em with wd40.
cheers guys! will need to touch up the bluing also any ideas, are the DIY kits any good? cheers
Try an oily rag first, if that fails I use the finest grade wire wool.
If the roll of wire you are about to use has more than two ends, take it as a sign that you're about to have a bad day
p.s its called philips gun blue
