I'v done it by simply holding some sand paper at the correct angle. (same as seal) and turning the piston slowly. It's crude but works !!
Ok thanks Fred, will have to dign up and have a butchers later when I get in
There is no damage to the cylinder walls so I think just for now I will leave it be.
So that just leaves sizing the piston seal- what's the best way to go about that? I dont have a lathe.

So, piston head off with seal in place and sand away at the seal?
You say correct angle, not sure what you mean my this?
Also, this rule of "piston should move under finger pressure"- is this lubed or dry? I have some silicone "dry lube" spray I could use for this purpose?
Sorry for all the questions!
Hope all you people giving advice realise that the seal on a meteor ( if not leather ) is usually an O ring
Doh, should've read the first page
I like tinkering and banging
Hi again guys
Yeah, i believe the seal is an "o ring" i will post pics later
What does this mean for my re-assembly? I cant size it?
The first post in this thread is my step-by-step tuning guide from the days of yore, it works well on a Meteor. Its an interesting thread too ....
