    19 year old....CZ527 in .22 Hornet

My second CZ527 in .22 hornet (this year)

1993 model, just took a chance and bought it.
Came in at a reasonable price for the complete set up.
It has an old very long moderator on it, so long it does not fit any of my bags.
Stock has seen some hard outings but still looks ok.
Bore is tidy as far as I can tell
Metal work is great for the age.
Trigger pull is a bit stiff but a clean and some adjustment should sort it out.

Just been out to zero it with Hornady 35 grain v max.

It came with a cheap mill dot scope so I bore sighted it to a Target 30metres away thinking if its on Target at 30m it will give a second zero about 140m (ish).

First shot, 1cm low. Could not believe it. Done.
Checking the Target when finished showed how accurate this under rated calibre is.
Great big hole in the earth bank I was using as a back stop.
It may be old but with age comes experience.

Looking forward to some Charlie in the scope.

I have a 1999 model, just had the barrel chopped from 24" down to 18 inches and fit a really light moderator on it.
It's completely changed the feel of the gun and is a pleasure to use, I love it.
I just need to start reloading now to bring the cost of ammo down.

Great calibre and of course you can never go wrong with a CZ 527. Foxes do not like them one bit!

Lovely looking dog and the rifle ain't bad! I'm looking forward to getting my Hornet in the New Year. I'll be reloading at some point and can't wait to get going with it. It's like having a new child!

What mod are you using with it? and who locally cut the barrel down for you and was it expensive?

    Thanks, John

I have a CZ 527 Hornet and i left the barrel t standard length and use an over barrel DM80 mod, works very well. Interestingly recently i was reading on a forum that a bloke uses a rimmy SAK mod on his hornet with no problems! Apparently he states they were originally advertised to include Hornet. He posted a link to the company that manufacture SAK and Hornet was on list for this mod alongside .22 rimmy, WMR, HMR, HM2
