Custom/aftermarket scope rails/mounts for Webley Hurricanes

Instead of that hideous plastic 'shelf' that is about as attractive as Sarah Jessica Parker (they both remind me of feet)

Anyway, as the choice of scopes and rails has somewhat grown since that plastic attrocity was designed, and a short rail that doesn't overhang like a big plastic foot would do the job for several types of laser/short scope etc.....
What are people using?
Has anyone modded an aluminium rail off of that auction site?
