Custom/aftermarket scope rails/mounts for Webley Hurricanes

Just though, it might be better to ask here than in collectable section:

I'd guess that there isn't enough of a market to make it worth anyone's while to design and manufacture them in quantity. With that style of Pistol the scope rail has to come backwards from the action but it could be made to stand off from the action and be a little bit forward compared to how the plastic item mounts. It could easily be done as a one off, but the finished result might look similar to the plastic part but be made in alloy.

    Hi Vic.

I'm thinking that a short 'device' could be mounted on a modifed rail that just replaces the standard adjustable sights.
    Even a short telescopic!
can't have that ugly thing hanging off the back. It's hideous.

If you used a pistol scope with a 1" body tube it could be mounted using a single 1" mount instead on a short section of 11mm scope rail screwed onto the Hurricane body in place of the rearsight. All you need is a Hacksaw and file and a couple of screws to suit. If you really wanted to you could screw a 1" mount straight onto the Hurricane body using a packing piece. Either way would be straightforward and cheap.

    Hi Vic,

Thats what I was thinking. There are rails on that auction site for about six quid that look like they'd cut dow. Just need to get measurements of the existing holes.
