Cylinder loading stand for Ruger Old Army

    Hi all
I've seen a number of threads relating to loading stands (for the removed cylinder, not for the gun) but wondered who has had success with one for the Old Army (other than harricook whose discontinued Triple-P I will covet from afar then maybe steal next time I see him )
Kranks do one for .44 http://www.henrykrank.com/index.php?...roducts_id=267 but I've seen threads that suggest that this won't work for the cylinder of the Ruger?

    Any thoughts?

I have the Kranks .36 /.44 loading stand
I use it occasionally on my .45 Ruger as I have a Belt mountain base pin ( see Midway link below )

    http://www.midwayuk.com/epages/Midwa...C-0A0A051150E8

Just remove the standard loading assembly and pop in the new pin
It also makes the Ruger look more like a Blackhawk's modern revoler's clean lines

It works fine but it is easier and faster to use a wood block loading stand such as this
as the Kranks stand is not precision

He will ship to UK or if your handy easy to make with woodwork skills

There is a very good loading stand available in the USA ( see link below ) and they will ship to UK

    Seriously think of getting one

Thanks for the info. So the Krank one will work for the Old Army?
Would you mind posting the second link
again? It doesn't seem to work.

    Many thanks

    BLACK POWDER LOADING BLOCK

The Krank stand brass loading plunger is fixed on only one pivot point
It will work on the .457 ball
It has to be aligned exactly or it will push in at an angle and there's not so much clearance on the .457 ball

Does this on .44 as well but more clearance so not so noticeable. simple design and cheap though

The US one aligns perfectly every time

I bought the Black Dawge one last year, great loader but did work out expensive by the time I paid the tax etc. Cost about £100 more or less if I remeber correctly. Probably worth the money, I couldn't make one.
