    Hw45 .20 Graphite Star?

I've been after a .22 older model hw45 for a few weeks now as I wanted to,see if the older weihrauchs are better made than the new ones, I saw a .22 a couple of weeks, back but missed out on it. I saw,one last week at mcavoys but upon arrival today it had sold. On my way home from there i phoned rainford fieldsports and he this one in .177 up for £165 I asked what deal for cash and got it for £150, it's a 1989 model, says .177 on the side but it's actually got a .22 barrel so happy with that as that's what I wanted. I'm going to fit a .20 barrel to this one and sell the .22 barrel (the .20 barrel costs £50 delivered, damn VCA act )

Gonna give the case to my mate Nige for his hw45.

It had a few marks here and there more so on the top cocking arm.

A quick trip,to halfords on the way home for some paint.

I took it all to bits, sanded the original finish and primed it.

I'll also add some custom grips too.

I got the lacquer on this evening after dulling the graphite silver paint,I gave it two, coats of lacquer.

I also got the frame stripped of what was needed and masked up anything else. I need to get a mew mainspring for it so I'll get an weihrauch spring for it.

All the paintwork is complete now, got the frame bits and bobs attached (trigger, hammer, safety catch etc) and tried a dry fit on the top cocking arm, it all fits perfect although i have lost some paint where the two parts rotate when cocking but it cant be seen so doesnt matter anyway. Just need the .20 barrel and new mainspring and i can get it back together. i also found a cheap rubber wraparound pachmayr colt grip on so thatll do till i get those laminate grips

oh yes i also used some silver accrylic paint and filled in the embossed writing on both sides of the frame, looks ok i think.

Well the barrel came yesterday and the new mainspring and grips I won on came this morning.

It's all back together now, working perfectly, I just need some .20 pellets now  :-D

These are the grips I won on fleabay but to be honest I'm not too keen on how they feel in the hand so I put the old walnut grips of my other 45 on for now until I get those laminate ones from the states.

I think the original trigger And hammer looks ok the pins that hold the gun together need a lick of paint, plus I need to get rid,of the, white inlay on the serial number"as the #2 hasn't been stamped deep, enough and it looks odd.

Nah it'll be used, I'm not rough with my guns so hopefully it won't get scratched.

Yeah it shouldn't be a problem, just find someone local who does powder coating.

Well my grips turned up this morning, very happy with them for £30 delivered from Thailand.

Been getting to grips (sorry ops: ) wih the pistol today as its a little more hold sensitive to my .177 45, it needs a lighter hold than my other one

    Anyway some pics
