SHARP ACE premature trigger release

Hi ALL Sharp enthusiasts!

Can anyone please advise why my lovely ACE is firing without trigger operation? I thought their sales pitch was that they are failsafe.
I am planning to add a spacer washer behind the release valve to add more grip around its shaft -Any other thoughts gratefully welcomed.

Incidentally I purchased a new pump head and O rings for it from T R Robb but the rings damage beyond re-use against the pump housing openings during installation and become useless before use. I have advised "the Man" and reverted to the original head.
Has anyone successfully used Robbs modification? It seems to me that the brass Robb head needs a tough square section O ring of the right overall diameter.
