It's something I'd have thought Chambers did, but I just had a look at their sight and they don't.

Have you tried calling Manchester Airguns to see if they can get them.

    Kind regards,

    Phil

Yup - we had a full set of GAMO underlevers in action at RMTC on Thursday.

    Falcon - Centre - Target.

All shot very well and surprised us with such good performances.

I have the PR15. Quite good for a close range plinker. The lead BBs also auto feed.

A pellet firer was later introduced, being the PR45.

I scoffed at the Centre, etc, when I first saw them back in the day, dismissing them as cheap and nasty.

How very naive of me, as I do nearly as well with the Gamo Falcon as I do with my ROHM Twinmaster.

It really is refreshing for such guns to be resurrected and put to regular use.

    Kind regards,

    Phil

That is what the MPL is all about - dragging all those great old classic .177 pistols back onto the ranges and reminding ourselves how little real progress has been made - apart from the lack of effort needed to cock the PCP pistols and the price we pay for the privilege.

Thanks for that Phil. Sorry over delay in replying, today is the first chance i've found to check forum posts!
I have found a washer specialist on tinternet and 2 are on the way.
Seems your idea re Mcr airguns was spot on!
The Centre is getting very popular after R1 of MPL ! Unfortunately it looks as though I will have to dust off my 65 for R2!
    Thanks
    Paul

Good luck rebuilding your Centre Paul - we have been surprised just how well they shoot at RMTC - even our very "high mileage" example is working well since John rebuilt it - and it has a nice trigger too!

If we can fix the elongated slot that used to be a round hole for the pivot pin that holds the underlever it could be quite good - but ours is so worn that it drops down as the shot is fired and has some effect on the grouping!

With the MPL scoring system - any good "kicker" has got to be very competetive ( the rules were made this way to encourage the use of these less complicated and therefore cheaper pistols) and I hope a few more of them get pressed into service in the future to show what they can acheive. The top score and Round One MPL Club Champion for Rivvy used a kicker to beat all the other Rivvy shooters so there is some proof already to show what can be acheived with them.

Keep us posted about the progress with the Centre rebuild and don't hesitate to contact us if you need any help - I did notice ( after we already fitted the leather washer to ours) that Chambers have a nylon washer in stock and that would fit with a lot less work.

My Falcon is ready to go. Not popped it over the chrono with R10s , but it was doing ok a couple of weeks ago when tried out at 10m.

This coming week should tell though, as the recoiling springers are put through their paces.

    Kind regards,

    Phil

    Good effort John.

Perhaps a barrel clean, and a few hundred re-leading shots would be the icing on the cake.

Look forwards to seeing how it performs.

I'll be down on Thursday with the Falcon.

    Kind regards,

    Phil

Sounds like the Centre is settling down nicely following your superb rebuild and it has transformed the pistol.

With only 3 fps variation the GECO remains the pellet to use in our Centre.

It will be interesting to see how the GAMO Target performs after it has had one of your famous rebuild and lube routines and if the pellet choice is the same. I have only used Meisterkugeln and R10 in it so far and it seems to work well enough with them - but maybe there is better to come?

On my travels today trawling the north west gun shops I came across an El Gamo Centre! It wasn't in that bad a condition - it needed a bit of work on the back sight, but it felt right. Needless to say it came home with me.
Over the chrono its doing a consistent 377-383 fps with H & N Match.

I wont be using it for the next round of the MPL but the inward scoring and the extra one point per card has got my competitive juices flowing. After a brief (VERY brief ) episode with a FWB 65 with the anti recoil locked off I shall give the recoiling pistol section of the MPL another try.

Ive also noticed most fall right through the loading port! I know someone a fellow Rivi member who may be able to make a steel/alloy version. He has, after all, made himself an auto pop-out single shot feeder like the HW100 for his Rapid 7. I shall talk nicely to him when we next meet.

You will enjoy playing with that - they are really nice under-rated pistols now back in demand again due to the MPL.

Under lever and Under rated - thats the Centre!

    More GAMO's !

We have managed to find another four very good GAMO pistols. Two Centres and two Falcons - the Falcons look like "new".

All of them in very good nick, and all of them being stripped, greased and checked over for us by John G.

Two of them need new sights, and until they are stripped we are not sure if they need new washers or pivot posts etc - but once they are done and we know what parts have been needed to complete the MOT they will be available for anyone who wants to buy one ( at cost) for use in the MPL series.

The Falcons are very interesting as they have the same Centre mechanics but at a lighter weight and are ideal for those that prefer a lighter pistol - and they are less expensive than the Centre pistols as well!

Once they are all processed and completed we will know what they cost us to service and "make good" with any parts needed - but if anyone at Rivvy or RMTC is interested please let us know.

If nobody wants to buy them, we will be delighted to add them to the RMTC club guns as they are excellent examples that are perfect for the MPL series and should have plenty of life in them.
