    Smile BSA R10 mk2

    BSA R10.
First visual impression was, what a beautifull rifle, before i had my hands on it i had decided to buy it, from the gracefull curves of the woodwork to the functional overall look of the rifle on the lads table, stood on the bipods legs. It really did look like the complete package. On holding it i quickly shouldered it to get a first feel for how it felt, it was like a glove, i was really impressed. Money changed hands and i was soon heading home with a glowing smile.
The rifle's zero was checked going down to my garage, although not a great range it gave me the chance to put a fair amount of pellets down the barrel,i was impressed with its ability to put pellets through the same hole at the modest range. there was one adjustment i had to make, that was too twist the trigger blade a little too the right to give a better feel, i may also consider reducing the first stage travel as i think it allows too much travel.
The filling of the rifle is simplicity itself, insert the probe and slowly open the air cylinder to fill to the required pressure, the shots per charge is impressive aswell. I went too the local club at cannock , checked impact points on the sighting range, shot the course and then went back to the sighting range where probably a further 30 shots was fired. I think overall i shot about 90 shots , on getting back too the car to refill the gun i found that just under half of the capacity had been used. The bsa is fitted with the original bsa silencer and i am most impressed with how quiet it shoots, people have asked me if it needs filling , so i think that is good testament to its quality.
I will be adding too this thread as often as i can with observations and anything that i feel is appropriate.

    Hi Bo
    Nice right up mate
I also have the same gun,and i am well pleased with mine.
I use pax exterminators 9.5 grains- 11.6 ftlbs in my gun,and it shoots spot on with them.
    Good luck with your R10.
    Regards

yep another big thumbs up from me on the R10, ive owned soooo many rifles its untrue but the R10 is one of only 2 that i have spent serious money on to customize (not that it needed any money spending on it) but i thought it was worth it

I've had my R10 since they first came out, it was new but older stock so after hearing of the problems with the early ones it went straight back to BSA for a complete update ie new barrel, all new internals, gauge etc all free of charge, I have had absolutley no problems, infact I have still not had to even change any O rings, it's been a great rifle and very accurate and consistant so I can only imagine how good these newer ones are, still one of the best looking air rifles out there I think and it certainly gets the job done with the rabbits. Enjoy your gun,

I am more than happy with the way it performs at the moment.I have a Bushnell legend 5-15x40 on my R10 and it is a great combination.

    First .177 pcp

I had been thinking about getting another rifle alongside my Logun S16s and fancied a .177.
Anyway I was on Gunstar and a R-10 mk2 popped up for £500, not bad.
I emailed away and got some detail which revealed a 11 month old gun that had fired less than a tin of pellets and an owner who was moving to London!
Talked him down to £450 and am very happy, such a beautiful gun I almost felt bad taking it out last night and getting it wet etc while I crawled around.
All sighted in at 30 yards and a bagged 7 bunnies at 20-40 yards with no problems at all what a great little gun!
Using Rangemaster Li pellets and a PAO 4-16x56 SWAT scope which looks great and seems ok, we will see with time!

Wish I'd never sold mine. It was Tench tuned with an Ultra barrel, spot on with Biz Mags.
If you get a good one they are very very good.
