    Cased Webley Air Pistols

The link below is to some pictures of my three cased Webley Air Pistols. The first is a nicely made case which I bought some time ago and now contains the best B4 Webley Junior I have come across appearing to be unfired. The second I made up myself using one of the Centennial Tempest cases which I slightly modified to take the B4 Senior. I have added an original oil can and pellet tin to complete the set. Finally, the only original case contains a Pre-War Webley slant grip Senior and includes the correct oil can and pellet tin. I would be very interested in seeing some pictures of other members cased pistols whether original or self made.

Money well spent I'd say. Looking again I can see you have nicely modified one of the cases to accomodate the Nemesis. I only needed to add a couple of small inserts to allow the Senior to fit more snugly. I did have a bit of trouble getting some felt of exactly the same colour to match the existing lining though.

Found this old post looking for examples of cased air guns. Adds such class to a collection. I know Hy-Score made a case since I just acquired one. Did any other maker do this?

That was the expensive way, I took the plunge and butchered a £70 box to take two guns and made drop in shelf for the accessories...

Cost me about £4 for the wood and another £4 for the blue baize and about £2 for a tube of glue.

This is my adaption of the Centennial box to hold a Nemesis:

I intend to adapt another case to take two seniors, or similar, but haven't got around to it yet.

    Hello,

When I purchased the pictured, pre-war 'Slant Grip' Webley Senior it included what I believed to be an original oil can although it wasn't confirmed that this was the case at the time of sale. Thanks to input from a fellow BBS member, I established that the can was actually a good replica but had subtle differences included by the original maker so that anybody knowing what they were looking at would know the difference. I have since sourced an original oil can and added to the set to make it correct, although obviously not original to the actual pistol at time of manufacture.

Post-war cans are hard enough to find, but these pre-war cans are much rarer and can easily be worth more than the pistols themselves.

To answer your question, I'm aware of cased pistols from Cogswell & Harrison (Certus), Bedford & Walker (Eureka), Feinwerkbau (LP65), Parker Patent Precision (Crankwound), Walther (LP53), Westley Richards (Highest Possible), Eisenwerke (MF) and there are no doubt a few more of which I'm not aware.

    Regards

I love the old oil can, looks awesome. I am looking for accessories to add to cases that's one to look for. Besides period pellet tins and darts.

    Another early cased airgun

    http://s864.photobucket.com/user/cin...tml?sort=3&o=0

On the 8th of August 1876 , George Gibson Bussey, an English sporting goods manufacturer, was granted the first British patent relating to the design of a spring-powered airgun. Bussey's air rifles and pistols were indeed the only all-British airguns made in the latter part of the Victorian age. A fact that has ensured the inventor's place in the history of air weapons.

    Rids gardens of cats.
Says a lot about the changing status of the little furry animals.
