Get branded batteries,cheap multi-pack batteries are usually dead,leaking, or both,if not they soon will be and take out your expensive equipment with them.You can get packs of decent ones for around 15p each or less off the bay.

And a word of warning, be careful where you buy your "branded" batteries, as the poster above has said, Amazon is good as they will put things right. The reason I say this is I have a friend who is a Trading Standards guy and I called him up a couple of weeks ago (we were meeting up) and he told me he would be late because they were going on a raid after Dura*ell batteries. They had discovered a load of fakes

Thanks Clank, that's interesting to know, though the ones I bought in the pound shop are working ok, as of course, I forgot to switch off the sight one day.
