NEW SCORING SYSTEM Starts This Month

The second season of the MPL starts this month and as usual it will be shot during the last week of the month.

All scoring is now scored "up".

Kickers gain a 4 point bonus per card ( to be reviewed before we start the third season in July to check and see if this is working OK).

Recoiless pistols have no bonus points.

Are the final scores up for the last session (December) Bob?

The Rivi lads are dying to know how much we beat them by this time.

Most of the results have been in for some time, but there has been some confusion about the time period we allowed for the December round as we agreed to extend the time available to include the first week after the holidays to help those that were away or unable to get to the clubs over this busy festive period.

As far as RMTC goes, that included this week as it is efectively the first week after the Christmas and New Years holidays that removed two Tuesdays ( Christmas day and New Years day) when our range was closed.

We can just go with the 8 RMTC results that have already shot if you like so we can wrap it up and get started with the new season in 4 weeks time.

I don't suppose it will make much difference really as Richard Stiles and Nick Robinson usualy score just above the average for our club results, and they are the two that have not shot yet.

Nope it's not serious, you mainly compete against yourself, trying to improve each round. The main thing is just to enjoy yourself.

The rest is just banter between 2 local clubs.

Feel free to drop by either club and have a look in.

RMTC are based in Rawtenstall, so not that far from Bury and we shoot on tuesday and thursday nights.

'Serious' ?? No way. The only thing we take serious at both clubs (RMTC and RR) is safety.

Come along to RMTC and John may let you feed his horse - Black Bess.

If you are over 18 years old and able to come along to the club in Rawtenstall on Thursday night at 7pm we can give you some basic coaching that may help you improve your scores.

With the basics covered, (and some regular practice) your scores should start to improve.

Hope to see you at RMTC soon!

    Cool

Thanks for the offer from the RMTC boys and girls but I already joined RR. So if its not serious which "team" needs their scores lowering . i am 18 and a bit, well closer to 50 really . . .

Glad to hear you joined a club Rixs.

And the rivi lot were on a bit of a charge at the end of the 2012 season so if you feel like lowering thier scores we at RMTC won't complain too much .

There are some very good shots at rivi, so i'm sure they will be able to help you improve.

Just have fun and join in with the banter a bit.

A few of the qualifications you MUST have to be a RR member and shoot for RMTC is that you must be good looking, fit, tall(ish) but mainly thick skinned and bullet proof.

The only thing we take serious in the MPL (or any event) is safety.

I seen a lot of the guys at rivi and if the qualification for membership requires good looks, then i fear the membership sec. must have very low standards or i suppose they could be blind :-) Except now i have Joined the average good looks has gone up. and if my eyes don't deceive methink the average age has come down too. As for my physique butchers dog springs to mind .

I forgot to say that as well as being young fit and good looking. Though were that will get me in a nearly all male club is somewhat worrying. On the safety front I am a fully qualified health and safety professional so I believe that also meets the requirement and makes me bullet proof.
