    WERE OFF!

The MPL Aprils round of scores are flooding in. (Can you see the hint of sarcasm in there? )

And a first is for new club North Manchester Target Club

John G(ee Gee) - 164 (FWB103) and straight to the top of his clubs standings (another first )

    R.R.

Ron Blair - 154 (FWB65). I think Ron is still reeling from the price of his drink going up 10 pence.

Please try to get your scores in before the next round.

No - I havent forgotten this series of competitions, God knows Ive tried , but due to mainly holidays, other events etc of myself and others may I suggest that we postpone the series a while and start again in, say Sept. (The first week ). In the meantime if you have chance shoot your cards and mark the reverse for September.

Even Ive left these shores for a holiday abroad in the Isle-of-Man. 'Abroad' you say. Well, try walking there.

See you all in September with your freshly dusted off M.P.L. pistols. And it will give some people chance to get their Wobblys fixed.

Mike he doesn't need any encouragment from you.......;-)
Methinks he's worried what a freshly fettled Wob will do to his die cast toy pistol.
Mind you the poor soul needs a holiday, he must have worked all of 8 hours this year :-)
The Isle is of course his spiritual home....land o bikes, fairies and Dwarfs :-):-)

Thinking of rejoining the mpl next season so I'll be needing a .177 hw45 when I get back from Canada I've got a gamo centre target with r/h anatomical grip, metal rear sights & adjustable triger if anyone wants a swap (cash either way) if I'm doing the mpl it'll be with my favorite pistol can't beat the 45 it doesn't have to be pretty as long as it works & full power only is fine it's all I use
    I'll be back.....😎

    Lee,

Rivi members need ALL the help they can get. If nothing else you can help look for the bits that fall off Pauls Wobbly.

I was going to use a new onto the market super duper s.s.p. wonder gun but it only lasted less than 100 shots before it broke. That will teach me to wander away from German pistols. (FWB65/80)

I take it you refer to the latest Italian FAS 6004 that seems to have used very soft alloy in the mainframe - not ideally suited to the use of a steel 2mm steel rear sight adjuster screw that can easily strip the soft alloy frame as the elevation is adjusted.

The close proximity of the similar sized spring loaded detent ( almost touching each other) makes it impossible to re-tap and increase the size of this screw to 3mm ( or bigger) or to insert a helicoil to fix it.

The design needs a re-think in this area and possibly the use of some better quality alloy as well.

Shame really as this could be a really nice pistol but at this moment it is not the sturdiest choice available and an original 604 would be a better choice until the new model problem is resolved.

Thats the one! It took ALL my strength and a tommy bar through the biggest screwdriver I could find to strip that alloy (or so some would have you think. ). Actually it was a 5p piece between my finger and thumb. '2mm steel thread into alloy'
Still awaiting a reply from the manufacturer through my retailer.
Although the rear sight wouldn't adjust low enough at 10m for me, I was prepared to make a taller foresight. "Just one last try to lower the back sight .... oooops.... ...sh*t!"
Im just a little concerned now what metal they have used for the trigger sears.
Ive got to give it to the Wobblys. At least they use steel.
