old stock any info would help

Found this old stock has steel on its but plate trigger still fixed in the stock and feel very smooth the part of the action still fixed to the stock with the trigger block and a barrel about 3" long if that's what you call it has what look like a $ sign with the letter H through it sideways seen lots of old BSA stocks and the pattern on the wood look very much like the one BSA used does anyone know what rifle its off looking at it would say its very old.
