    Distance of targets

    Does anyone know or seen targets at club shoots that are out, under 8 yards, not compertition, just club and plinking.

    No. I believe 8 yards is considered the minimum safe distance for shooting 12FPE airguns at steel targets, incase of pellets/lead fragments bouncing back.

    Just wondered that's all, someone at our club has mentioned that under 8 yards voids our insurance, but the insurance has been checked and nothing is mentioned in the small print.

    On our zero range when shooting at the 8 yard plate, if anyone else is about, the shooter will usually indicate they are about to shoot. Lead will often come back towards the shooters.

    I wouldn't want to shoot at targets closer than 8 yards tbh
