I'd certainly recommend going for the Top while you learn the basics and save up for something better.
I had one for a coupe of years, and really enjoyed shooting with it. Even won a comp or two.
Mine seemed happiest using RWS CO2 flatheads. I reckon it's worth giving them a go.
