Bite Trigger
Hey there guys, just joined up in the hope that I can get some advice.
I am disabled with limited arm movement and no movement in my fingers. I want to get into target shooting. I bend down to my local shooting club and they are very helpful and are doing what they can to accommodate me. What I am looking for is a mechanism that will pull the trigger. I know that bite triggers are available, but I've only ever seen them in the states. Also, I'm not sure if the ones I have seen will put on the specialised target rifles that are available. Does anyone know if these bite triggers are available for the specialist rifles, or if you know how to make one, maybe then I could approach an engineer or someone to make one for me.
Thank you very much

Hello ironside,
I am not aware of any commercially available advice device that will meet your requirements. However there is no reason why one should not be made that will work on a target rifle. If you get in touch with Liz Woodall via the Disabled Shooting Project she should be able to put you in touch with someone who has the necessary expertise to help and advise.

Hey thanks for the reply. I did write to her about a week ago but I haven't heard anything back. Just in case the message didn't get sent, I have penned another e-mail to her, hopefully this one will get there.

Hi Ironside
I've seen what I assume was a bite trigger, or something similar, being used on an S200T by someone paralysed from the neck down. So someone has done one. This may not be the only option available for you. Several of the GB paralympic squad have used different methods to use the trigger. Both Richard Davies and Ryan Cockbill use FWB P700s with modified triggers. Both have limited movement in their fingers, but are able to shoot very, very well.

As Rutty recommended, if you get in touch with Liz Woodhall, she should be able to point you in the right direction.
