    Steyr LP10 / LP50 balance

I have just changed from a LP10 to an LP50 and have found the balance suits me better.

Before I found the LP10 nose heavy with all the weight up front but with the LP50 I found the balance is more central, possibly because of the extra rapid fire mechanism.

    Anone else found this?

Early days though, but hopefully the results reflect how pleased I am with it.

    i prefer my lp5 over my lp10.
although i score more 10s with the lp10 i also get a lot more fliers, very unforgiving pistol.
the lp5 however i find is better balanced and suits my dropped wrist style of grip.
my scores were a lot more consistent with the 5 shot.

    Hi Dave

Just a personal thing mate, put it this way, they dont shoot the Olympics 10m with LP50's they shoot with LP10's, so there cant be alot in what I say.

Hope the practice goes well and that you are enjoying the pistol.

That will be because a precision competition has to be shot with a single shot pistol, you could use an LP50,but only with a single shot magazine, which would be a distraction to load 60 times, plus the trigger on an LP50 is more suited to rapid fire, with a very short first stage

    Lp10

    Hi Tone,
Shot 20 shots in the black. Went to do my first cards for my average and second card was rubbish. First, third and fourth were quite good.
    next cards on thursday.
    Am enjoying it loads.
    Pistol is good.

    lp10/50

yes I always felt the LP5 had better balance than the LP10 and altho more challenging , the LP5 or LP50 are more fun to shoot.
better scores with the Lp10 due to more refined trigger but not the enjoyment.Im forced to keep both single and repeater.
When my arm aches I pinch the compact cylinder of my partners short LP10 and put it on my long LP10 what a difference.
I have had as high a score with the 50 as the 10 but not as often and much harder work.
Were I to have only one it would be the 50,always the hard option for me...
    enjoy

No mate, its the guns fault, if only it would shoot the 10's out that my mind wants it to do, but it thinks 8's and 7's etc are better

See you up at the club.

    Average

    Hi Tone,
Just got my average cards and have been given an average of 80.
loads of room for improvement but considering i've only shot 5 times and two times with the LP 10 dont think its too bad.
