Hi all, have not been on line for sometime so here's an update
Parker Hale Restoration and Innovation
Several years ago as an enthusist and engineer I went on a course at Parker Hale with Bill the senior gunsmith, to service Dragons and Phoenix's before the closure of PH at the Golden Hillock site.
I was determined to save these unique British designed, built and now upgraded and serviced airguns.
I faccilitated the relaunch of the Mk 2 Phoenix and I took on all the spares for the Dragon sporter and FTR models
A lot has happened regarding the Dragons. I initialy spent much time and disccussion with Bill and the guns desginer Graham Bluck
Based on this and drawing on my thirty years experience as engineer I have done much innovation to improve and upgrade them.
For example, there was an issue regarding the valve base seal on the dragon which certain PH management would not allow their gunsmiths to address. I have changed and ugraded it and others to different and aircaft type spec seals with required machining to components,
This over the years has proved exteremly reliable and with other inovations has greatly helped to improve performance. I have designed/ made specialist mandrels, to hold and facilitate re-engineering of what is a finite source of components where practical
Without boring you all to death, the up shot (bad pun) of all the above is a smoother, easier to cock and reliable Dragon with a respetcable higher power /velocity output ( whilst keeping it under the 12ftlb limit)
Phoenix mk ones have also benefitted from a bit re-engineering
For fellow enthusiasts and or those wishing to own a restored and highly accurate Dragon or Phoenix I have, info, tips on care etc if you wish to email me
